Best 37inch telly for £1200

Cards on the table time. Whats the best 37inch telly (lcd or plasma) for 1200 notes bearing in mind internet deals. Let battle commence.

Panasonic's 37in plasma was our Best Buy in the Awards last year, but they're hard to come by now. Alternatively, consider the LCD version, the Panasonic TX-37LZD70 which is officially £1100, but a bit of shopping around should bring that down.

Thanks for the reply Andy you must be having an exciting weekend! After trolling through what seems like endless posts about the pana's isn't the lcd a bit of a let down in comparison? Think it maybe wiser to hang on a month or to to see what the manufacturers bring out for 08.

If you can wait a bit, it makes sense, as we're being briefed on all the manufacturers' new product ranges for 2008 over the next month or two, and as ever, a whole range of new models are on the way...

Do you have any information on the new Panasonic 37 plasma please? Are they going to be substantially better than the TH37PX70. Or just cosmetic changes.

Oh, and any rough guide on price.? You can pick up the current model for £649

Sadly, detailed 2008 Panasonic TV info is embargoed until March 1st - we'll have all the details online next week. But I'll slip out the fact (as it's not model-specific) that there are several technical changes as well as a new look....

That was quick, thanks very much. I will look out for the info after March 1st. One final thought, any idea when they will be in the shops?

New 37" Pana plasma is in stock end of next week at some retailers.

Should have said - Dixons £750, currys £799, JL £799 ( with 5 year JL warranty.) Will be cheaper elsewhere very soon.
