I'm looking for a one box hi-fi solution for the bedroom.

I would like something similar to the TEAC DR300 micro system or Roth Alfie- a combined iPod dock/ DVD/ radio/ amp set-up.

I have a couple of questions about both systems:

Does the Roth Alfie allow video playback from a docked iPod or is it DVD video only?

Does the TEAC system have an available iPod dock and if so is it controllable from the remote?

Has anyone seen anything better out there? I am considering just moving my Mac Mini and powered desktop speakers into the bedroom and buying another computer!

Don't know the Roth Alfie, but something similar to the Teac would include the Denon DM37, Onkyo CS 325 and the Cambridge Audio One. All of them a pretty similar design. Not sure about the iPod functionality with the remote for any of them, but the WHF reviews will probably have included something about that. Definately gets a mention on the DM37 review.

Thanks for replying.

Have looked at the specs of the denon, onkyo and CA One but they don't do DVD playback unfortunately :(

You may have a bit of a problem then. The WHF buyers guide only shows 1 all-in-one system that can handle DVD. I'm thinking that £1495 for tha Meridian F80 may be just a touch more than you want to pay.

The Teac unit plays dvd ,its a nice little system to

It also has an available ipod dock ,but other makes would connect up ,but the 300dab has a built in usb socket for pen drives or external usb hard disks
