I got barred off here yonks ago for suggesting someone goes to e bay to look at some speakers i was selling yet im seeing and reading hifi shop owners giving people advice which i know they stock in there shop , so isnt that the same thing?

No it isn't (clearly), one is giving advice on what components will work well together, the other is actively selling things. Dealers here will get moderated if they overstep the line (such as listing prices that they sell gear at for example, not helped by people directly asking how much a dealer is selling something for). Do they get sales out of it? No doubt but it's still not the same as pointing someone directly to your ebay auction.

I'd be surprised if you were actually banned, usually the post gets moderated and that's it, unless you were really taking the piss.
