what amp do you have? does it have preouts at the back? if you do have preouts you can connect the b&o speakers to the amp via preout, you would just need to buy a special cable from http://www.soundsheavenly.co.uk/,if you dont have preouts then you cannot connect them, b&o speakers are active which means they have there own dedicated amplifiers built into the drivers which means cleaner and crisper sound, if you are going down the passive speaker route then go for b&w speakers, this depends on what amp you have, they are brill to

i spoke to the guy my amp dont have the preouts in able for the b&o to works, i got a pioneer lx81 amp , i think i am set on b&W just the way my room is set up i might have to go for wall speakers tho

what shop was this? they talking rubbish, i am running my b&o speakers through my yamaha rxv3067 amp via preouts and they sound awesome, what happens is when you are watching anything through your amp what happens with b&o speakers or any active speakers is when the sound hits the speakers the amp thats built into the speakers processes the sound as apposed to the amp, with passive speakers ie b&w the sound processing from your amp outputs to the speaker, this way active speakers you will find sound more crisper and no distortion whereas with passives what i find is if you do not have the right speaker + amp combo then you will get distortion and this may damage your speakers or your amp or the sound you want to hear will either be to bright or warm.but whatever choice you make make sure you try getting a thorough demo before parting with your money, second hand b&o are excellent value for money to my ears, dont listen to all the b&o bashers out there, i have owned them for 17 years so i know what i am talking with regards to b&o. B&W again are excellent speakers as i have stated before but from what i have heard they are too boomy and generally many people who own b&w speakers partner the speakers with yamaha amps (ask musicraft on the forums) they may sound too bright with your pioneer amp. I havent heard a b&w and pioneer combo so cannot state.

was a shop in london , he was slating b&o maybe bc them mainy sell b&w prob why , i thought i ask thanks for ur reply, as u owned for so many years i trust ur judgement , bc everytime i heard b&o its so so clear even at high db the sound stays the same no distoration

i only heard the b&w through an onoko amp sounded great, hard to compare as i am still a novice when it comes to sound coming from speakers , i have to take u up on the demo for the B&O tho then i can make a decision on what i going for
