Well these Grados arrived a little while ago and I've been playing with them. It is early days of course but first impressions are that I like them quite a lot. They are a lot warmer sounding than I thought they would be and I almost feel like I was hoping for a bit more sparkle from them. (caveat: as I mentioned above, I do have some high - frequency hearing loss due to being ancient) I am also using my Hegel 160 here with no EQ and I am guessing when the DX5II arrives there will be a bit more of a trebly sound.
The bass seems to me to be a bit boomy on some tracks but excellent on others so .....
I don't find them as uncomfortable at the moment as I had expected, but of course I've not had a chance to leave them on for long.
All in all this is just off the top of my head at the moment and I should probably sit down and have a nice cup of tea before I listen to anything else, but I'm not regretting my purchase or considering a return so far.
