Hi I'm thinking of buying a new amp for my b&w mt60 speaker package, I'm thinking of pioneer sc-lx57 ?

any thoughts?

If you're a sucker for detail, then yes, the Pioneer is a good place to start, along with the Anthem MRX310. The Yamaha RXA1030 will be a little more laid back.

I just read who review of mt60 which says avoid the one of the pioneer amps, are they all bright sounding?

Nope, they're just more forward sounding. There's a difference betwen that and bright, but most people perceive forward as being bright because they're not used to it.

I've owned an SCLX82, SCLX83, SCLX85, SCLX86 and an SCLX87 in the past, and never once felt any of them were bright sounding.

I once had the MT30 with a Pioneer amp and it was perfect. Shops do pair them together.

So I should still demo the sc-lx57 and maybe Yamaha RXA1030, my previous amp was an onkyo 875 which has served me well so I dont want to be seen as downgrading.

Makes sense, they are the most popular ones used by retailers.
