Hi

can you recommend a receiver or an amplifier for these speakers (B&W 685)? (I now use a Panasonic SA-XR59 receiver but I do think it is not the best choice...) ;

I think Onkyo TX-SR 605 would be a good choice but I'm not 100% sure . I listen mostly stereo music (mp3) -> (PC/audigy XFI gamer soundcard/toslink /receiver) ; should I try with an amplifier (Cambridge audio , Rotel )?

...my subwoofer is a Pioneer S-W150S-K

thank you.

well if you are only using the speakers only for stereo then get a good 2 channel amp as for the same price of the Onkyo, you will get a better 2 channel sound. ÿHowever, if you have the 685 theater (i.e a 5+ channel system) then the Onkyo I think was highly recommended by the magazine - although I haven't heard them coupled with the Onkyo yet. ÿI am inclined to buy the B&W 685 theater together with the Onkyo TX-NR905 for my system.

If you want to stick with a multi-channel receiver. Take a look at Arcam's AVR280 & AVR350.

I've just ordered CAMBRIDGE AUDIO AZUR 540A V2 http://whathifi.co.uk/Review/Cambridge-Audio-Azur-540A-V20/

Hope this solves 'my problems' with stereo music and other stereo sources .(don't wanna be disappointed )

Do you know if I can bi-wire AZUR 540A V2 with my b&w 685 ? does it make sens ?

Thank you.

The 540a receiver you brough is very good with stereo (as far as av receivers go) and good with av. You dont use the pre-outs for your sub, these are so you can upgrade at a later stage by adding a stereo amp for combing hi fi with av. There is a dedicated connection for your sub (Single RCA)
