Av reciever, is it actually bi-amping or just bi-wiring???

I'm in the process of saving for a power amp, possible the marantz 7025. But, in the mean time is it worth using the surround channels to give my fronts that extra boost (they aren't currently being used). Is this actually bi-amping or just bi-wiring??

It's bi-amping as you're using 2 amplifiers per speaker. Worth trying, many people report a worthwhile improvement.

It's passive bi-amping, as both terminals receive a full signal to be split by the passive crossover. But there is only one power supply so there is likely little or no benefit in power terms. I considered trying it, but decided life is too short
