I have Dali Oberon 9 speakers that I don't plan on replacing.

I'd like to get some kind of Yamaha AV receiver with them, so I'm wondering if this borrowed one that I have to return these days (Yamaha RX A2A) is adequate, too weak, or overkill for my speakers.

At the time I use them as a TV cinema speakers but i also plan to buy turntable, probably Rega, so I wonder which Rega Planar turntable would be a good match (in approximate same class) as my speakers and receiver.

Hi,

Dali Oberon 9 are very good speakers with full sound easily filling also big (35 - 40 m²) room. If driven in stereo, they deserve high quality dynamic amplifier like Rega Elicit mk5, new Cambridge Audio EXA100 or Arcam Radia A25. They really deserve so good amp😉. As for turntable, Rega or Project are best in class. From Rega, Planar 3 with new Rega MM cartridge ND5 is excellent choice. Currently Rega offers new package of Planar3 with cartridge ND5 and power supply Neo mk2 PSU (also very important for turntable) as Rega Planar 3 RS for some 1000 pounds. Rega Elicit has very good mm phono preamp in the amp inside. To combine with Cambridge Audio or Arcam amp, I recommend to buy a separate mm phono stage, like Rega Phono MM or similar (Cambridge Audio Solo, Thorens...).

I am not expert for home cinema, here should somebody other give an advice to you.

Best regards. Juraj

Tnx,

If Rega P3 is your recommendation, would you consider Technics SL1500C as alternative?

Hi Ivo,

yes for sure. Technics SL1500C is another very solide option. This is very robust reliable machine. I am using Rega turntables for some 26 years, I am a bit biased in that direction😅. Technics will sound very good with rock, pop, metal music, has tons of dynamic and slam in bass. Rega is more precise with better soundstage, details and it is a real king (or queen?) on mid frequences, voices, acoustic intruments are to die for. My Planar 25 works and works for more than 26 years, has still excellent sound. I use also Planar 9 for some 10 years. It is love relation.
