Hi there,

Looking for recommendations for an AV receiver. Probably looking for something reliable to pick up second hand off eBay. Need the following for an array of vintage formats:
* phono in
* VCR component in
* cassette in/out
* Laserdisc (scart or s-video)
* Blu-ray in (HMDI)
* HD HDMI output
* 5.1 speaker output with DTS/Doly Digital decoding.

Also willing to look at something that will process 4K for some future proofing as and when I upgrade the TV in that room (appreciate the cost will go up, though not something I'm likely to do in the near future).

Also some strong cross compatability for USB input would be good (e.g. being able to play audio only surround sound files from a range of codecs would be handy).

Any view?

Thanks,

R.

You may find fairly recent models with component video (even some current Marantz models) but scart and s-video is going to be more difficult I suspect.... to find that AND 4K capability is pretty near impossible I would suggest. 😕

Fair enough. Two sets of composite inputs would do the job like my Yamama RX-A3050, but would prefer not spend that much.

Any ideas anyone?
