I'm currently using a Kimber attenuated cable to connect my Maranzt CD Player to my Pioneer A400 Amp. However, I also have a couple of actual attenuators which connect to to the amp - a cable can then be connected to these. My question is: which would be best? The attenuated cable? The two actual attenuators? Or use both - the cable and the attenuators?

...depends on how much attenuation each method gives (the -dB figure) and how much attenuation you actually need.
I would agree, the well known Rothwell attenuators are available in a variety of 'strengths' the cables will be of a fixed value.
It really depends on how much attenuation you think you need.
First time I have heard about attenuated cables.
