This may sound a dumb question, and there is certainly an argument for "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". However...

...I have a pair of Atacama SE24 stands purchased something like 12 years or more ago, which until recently supported my Mission 760i speakers. If I am considering the purchase of new and more expensive speakers (approx £400), should I consider an upgrade of the stands too? These stands were highly regarded at their price point when I purchased them, but have things moved on? Would purchasing another model be sensible?

The current stands are filled with dry silver stand (in large plastic bags, which seemed a good idea at the time).

I welcome your opinions.

Just make sure the spikes and screws are all nice and tight, make sure they're level and they should survive your speakers upgrade no problem.

That's the sort of reply I like: fast, succinct and money-saving!

Thanks for re-establishing my faith in my black monoliths! I'm glad they're good to go for some years yet.
