Assistance Required!!

Just about to dip my toe into the water, and buy a 26" LCD TV...

Initially, this will be my only TV, with a long term view to increasing in size, and making this the 'bedroom tv'

Don't want to spend a small fortune, so I am looking for suggestions or recommendations

Budget is circa £500.00, and I'd like to get something with 2 HDMI inputs (does a 26" LCD exist with 1080p?) as I will undoubtably run a PS3 into it, and at some point Sky HD

So there we are, I'm in 'your hands' - recommend away!!!

(Incidentally, I can source from a trade source, so 'retail' prices need not apply!!)

No 1080p 26in sets yet - at that size there'd be little point, as you simply wouldn't be able to tell the difference (though i'm sure smaller Full HD sets are on their way)

Our favourite 26in set is the Panasonic TX-26LXD70

- it won our December issue Supertest against nine other LCDs of that size, and it's got the two HDMI inputs you're after.

You can buy it for around £599, but if you can get trade price i'm sure you can get that down into your budget-range...

Just checked online, and this can be bought for £439.00 from www.hughestv.co.uk, so I don't think I'll bother getting a 'trade' price!

Just in case you buy the wrong TV Peetbarker, the one you are looking at for £439 is the wrong model!

The model Clare suggested is on the same site - www.hughesdirect.co.uk/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=PAN-TX26LXD70

As you can see, it is far more expensive.

Thanks, I decided to go with the LMD70 in the end as I got it for £413.00

Given that it will end up as a bedroom TV at some point in the next 12 months, I just couldn't justify the extra for the LXD model (although I'd have to say having seen both in the shop, I struggled to find any reason for paying the extra money, but I guess the answer is there somewhere!!)
