Arcam Delta 290 Integrated Amp (converted to Power Amp)

Hi

I'm looking at the above thats for sale on Ebay. The seller has stated in the auction that he has had this converted in to a power amp (by having the internal switch switched thus turning it from an integrated to power).

My question is that i have an Arcam Alpha 9 integrated amp - Would this 290 be a good match for a power amp?

I have been watching Arcam 9P & 10P amps on Ebay but they usually end up going for more that i want to spend currently.

hi dan

yes, the 290 is the next best thing to an alpha 9p power amp if you can't stretch funds to one of those.

i recently moved up to the alpha 9 /9p bi amp setup. The improvement is worthwhile with plenty of

previously unheard detail coming through my ruark icons and a generally bigger,more focused and dynamic sound.

It's better at low volumes too.
