Arcam CD72 - replace dac or do something else?

The dac has gone on my CD72, is this something cheap and easy to replace or would I be better off buying an external dac or even a new/2nd hand CD player?

What sort of money would I need to spend on an external dac to sound as good (or better) as the internal on the CD72?

Hi and welcome...

Really boils down to whether you intend to stream music or not. If you have no immediate intentions then another CDP will suffice. Would be nice to have some indication on budget, and the rest of your kit.
