Over the last 3 years I have gone through 4 AVR 300's and 2 AVR 350's. Each time a different fault. Each time the unit was replaced by Arcam. Now my AVR 350 which was "repaired" only a few months ago is playing up again. I have had it with Arcam and have told my installer ( Hi-Fi Corner Edinburgh ) that I don't want another Arcam amp in the house. I am looking for a new manufacturer. I have a budget between £1500 - £2000 for a new amp. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could get to replace my Arcam?

Hi. I'm running 5 B&W FPM 5's and a B&W PV1 Sub. Was looking at the Pioneer 82 and also the Sony STR-DA5400ES. Leaning towards the Pioneer though.

It should have been a case of 'once bitten, twice shy' with you. Even the latest Arcam AVR600 is bogged down with issues.

For your bufget, I'd go with the Yamaha Z7.

With the B&Ws I would stongly consider the Yamaha DSP-Z7 or RXV3900. We have a number of customers who have done exactly what you have - moving from Arcam / B&W over to Yamaha.
