Reviews of the above have been very impressive to date. However, we only seem to get a verdict on stereo performance with other AV receivers (not unreasonable I know) and not with how it compares with a dedicated two-channel amplifier. So for those of us looking for the ultimate one box does everything really well, amplification wise for 2,5 7 channel, we do not get that view expressed. For example, I have a Linn Wakonda/LK140 combination and have been looking at upgrading this, (Naim, Pathos, Bryston) at some point. I also have a separate system for AV duties but would like to reduce the number of boxes on the amplification side. So the ultimate would be one box and an increase in two-channel stereo performance (otherwise what is the point of upgrading?). I will being going around to audition at some point, but some advance knowledge/opinion from WHFS&V on its capabilities in comparison with dedicated stereo amps would be a good starting point. (Currently earning brownie points with new kitchen being installed for Mrs G, so will be allowed out of the house soon and may have some budget left!!!). Am I living in cloud-cuckoo land in expecting the AVR600 to be as good as my current stereo set up or even the sort of upgrade I might be looking at (Naim nac 202/nap 200 for instance)?
