Arcam airDAC or irDac (with Airport Express/TV)

Confused by these two DACs and how they compare to each other, given that they are both the same price - the irDAC appears to be a trickle down from the high end D33 and is highly praised by many. The AirDAC seems to come from the other direction, looking like an updated rDAC-kw. Is one a much better sound quality than the other?

For me the AirDAC would be useful - the two inputs and wireless is all I need. I don't need all the extra inputs and remote of the irDAC. However, I have an old first gen Airport Express I could utilise with the irDAC, although I'm not too sure of the quality of this, or I could get an Apple TV if the irDAC was signifcantly better sounding. Any opinions please?

I'm not sure if it makes much difference, either to you or in general, but the irDac can handle a higher but rate 192khz as opposed to the airdac which maxes out at 97khz.

I've not heard either though, so not sure which sounds best in a real

world setting.
