Hi

I have an Apple 5th generation IPOD 80GB and I use the Klipsch Image headphone with it.

What I want to know is what is the best format to convert my cd's on ITUNE's with?

Current I use Apples Lossless decoder, is this the best one to use? or is there any other decoder I can use which will give me a better sound quality file?

Even I don't mind changing from an IPOD to another media player if it means improvement in sound quality near to CD quality.

Thank you in Advance for your advice.

Apple lossless is the best quality format that an iPod can handle as it's lossless and effectively a direct copy of the original CD, errors notwithstanding. You can give iTunes the best shot at making it error free by ticking 'error correction' in preferences.

There are other lossless formats which are effectively equivalent (FLAC, WMA Lossless for example) but iTunes and the iPod can not decode them natively.
