Apple iPhone 4s email alert sound - can you mute it or not?

I have signed up for my emails on my iPhone 4s but get a loud noise every time I get an email, is there anyway to turn this off?

A quick look at settings suggests "settings" then "notifications" then "mail" then "sounds" (turn "sounds" slider off).

Chebby's suggestion sounds right, I googled it in the end and you get the answer too.
