Anyone like Queen?

I like Queen. For rock opera type music I strongly prefer them to Meatloaf.

Jeez, talk about damning with faint praise. I'd prefer syphilis to Meatloaf...

Queen are a 2-part story to me. I love the first 5 albums, and Queen II, A Day At The Races, and A Night At The Opera would all feature for me as being amongst the greatest albums of all time.

After the first 5 albums, they went progressively downhill in my opinion and by the 80s MOST of their stuff was verging on poor.

Freddie remains the ultimate frontman, and a listen to the Live At The Rainbow discs shows what a great live act they were in those early days. Even at Live Aid in 1985 they towered way above anybody else.

I saw them live with Paul Rodgers a few years ago and that was a fabulous concert, though I enjoyed the early Queen songs and the Free/Bad Company material the best.
