advice on upgrade

Hi,

I have just purchased a 3D projector (PT-AE8000U) and now require to upgrade my current cinema surround (STR-DB795) which has a seven channel output.

My question is would the Pioneer SC-LX88 be a waste on my seven speaker as it supposed to be for nine channels.

Can anyone recommend a better option for a 7.1 option with a 3D setup instead?

And before anyone says it another two speakers are not an option lol

Hi dub,

No, it wouldn't be a 'waste' as such, if you don't use all its outputs.

Most movie soundtracks are only designed for 5.1 anyway.

It is very rare to find soundtracks mixed for more than 5.1, least not Atmos.

What speakers were you thinkining of using?
