Hi, Can anyone advise me a good DVD/HDD recorder? I'm thinking of the Panasonic DMR-EX77 or the Toshiba RD97DTKTB. I've gone off Sony in general as I don't think their quality is generally as good as it used to be. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks,

I wouldn't agree with you about Sony, as they still make some of the best DVD/HDD recorders around, which is why we voted the Sony RDR-HXD970 (£375) our 2007 Product of the Year.

However, if you're really not keen on a Sony, I'd go for the Panasonic DMR-EX77 instead, which is an excellent five-star recorder (although it only has a 160GB HDD compared to the Sony's 250GB, and one TV tuner, not two).

Hi, just wondering what you think of the Toshiba. It has a 250 GB HDD. My current Toshiba DVD player has been good. Why would you choose the Panasonic over the Toshiba?
