My Q Acoustic BT3 speakers stopped working tonight. Well outside of the warranty period. I am now looking for another active speaker for my TV setup. The BT3s will be hard to replace since I picked them up during a sale for £179 pounds.

Anything decent below £400. 🤔

Well outside of the warranty period.
If they've just stopped Stuart, as I always ask, what have you got to lose by opening them up?
Some say they've got no diagnostic skill, but a screwdriver and eyes might be all you need to find a blown internal fuse.
Probably nothing so simple, but it looks like 8 screws and you're in.
(or get them to me in South-East Essex......)

Hey Gray,

I'm not the do-it-yourself type with electronics. But you're right, I should look into it just to see if I can uncover the problem. Unfortunately, due to customs charges between Ireland and the UK since Brexit, the delivery prices for shipping packages is crazy.

Caution do not remove back cover. Risk of shock. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel. I guess I'll leave it at that. 😅

Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
It always says that Stu.
Besides, if they were that clever, no qualified personnel would ever have had a shock, would they?

As, I think you're Irish, think what Craggy Island's Mrs Doyle would say, "Ah go on, go on".
Seriously, with your mains lead detached.....just those 8 outer screws should do it.
We need to see inside 🧐

EDIT: Q: What's black, shrivelled and hangs from the ceiling?
A: An Irish electrician.
(Sorry, couldn't resist an old 70's joke).

I'm a Scottish resident of Ireland Gray. I'm afraid the joke's older than I am. 😅 I opened the cover on the back of the loudspeaker. 👀
