Hi everyone.

I have a Marantz SR7005.

I am looking for some bookshelfs for 600 or lower. I have previously bought and sold/reurned Monitor Audio RX1(too harsh on high frequencies and vocals), Quad 12L classic(too dull and no bass) and i have heard the Dynaudio dm2/7 which i found blah if you know what i mean.

Mainly stereo music with some sacds, dvd as then later adding a center, rears.

cheers

There is no right answer to this as it is only best for you. With the Marantz and knowing nothing else about your system I would try some Tannoy DC6's on some decent stands.

Can you take your amp to the shop ? Keep in mind then, that acoustics might differ!

Epos Epic 2 or 5, Kef R300 or LS50 are all very "musical sounding" speakers.

+1 for the Epos and the KEF R range or Q range as well.

You didnt like the Dyns 2/6 but give a chance to the X12...

I thought the dyns were just o.k. Not great for the money.

I thought about the KEF R range. Any harshness on vocals with these?

Seconding Nick's Tannoy suggestion. I use the DC4 standmount which is £350 and worth every penny. Small speaker, huge performer and fabulously musical. Better bass than the reviews would suggest and the midrange is a delight.
