A question about music streaming in general and the MCR603

I am new to music streaming and realise that apple have itunes and airplay the streaming technology, to stream the music data wirelessly to say the MCR603, and have noticed that most systems seem to just be interested in apple technology

I am sure many people have android tablets and mobiles, and I simply want to know what android may use in competition to itunes presuming you can not use itunes on an android, and also if you can stream music data from an android device via wireless to the MCR603 using an android airplay app, as the MCR603 as I understand is only designed to recieve wireless streaming via airplay, thanks ?
