840a v2 VS cyrus pre and power....

840a V2 or Cyrus PreVS2 and Power amp (prob 8 power or whatever i can get second hand for around 400).....

If it were me, I'd go for the Cyrus pairing. What speakers and CD player are you using?

Havent a proper decent cd player yet but using a CA 640v2. To be honest rip most of my music lossless onto an i pod. I was thinking Cyrus too just for the upgrade path and resale value, however been reading a lot of good stuff on the 840A V2.

oh and bowers and wilkins 685 speakers but want amp which could easily handle better speakers as they are the next component that i will change (not for a bit though).
