70 inch plus tvs

hello i am looking at getting a 70 inch plus tv are the sharps the most cost effective there is the new 4k models this year, i was hoping for the 2013 range prices to fall but they havent esp the 90 inch there is also the toshiba 84 does anybody own a large sharp or other models and can recommend thanks

Personally I would stay away from Sharp or Toshiba for 4k. You would be better off getting a 2k (1080) TV of the same kind of price from Sony, Panasonic or LG. If it's 4K you want and have the money, go for a Sony, Panasonic, LG, Samsung and the like. They will have much better picture engines in them. Just because a TV states it can do 4K won't meen the picture will be any good.

I could be horribly wrong but Sharp and Toshiba were never any good for 1080. Not from my experiences anyway. However if you like how both TVs look then go for it.
 
Sharp hasn't announced a 4K TV yet, as far as I'm aware. In Japan (home country), Sharp actually has a better reputation than Panasonic. Also, Sharp did justice to the Elite brand after buying it from Pioneer. They're not as well known in the UK as they're only concentrating on a small market of very large TVs.
