Hi,
I have just purchased a Pioneer Cassette Tape Deck - Model CT-A7 - 1984. I didn't realise that it was not a UK deck, and it has an input of 220V and 50/60 Hz. I've searched the web for about an hour to find out if there is any off the shelf external solution that I can use to reduce 240v to 220v with no luck. I've trawled forums and some people say it's fine to input 240v into a 220v input, and some disagree. Could anyone possibly point me in the right direction? Thank you in advance :)

The mains supply in the UK is an alternating current (ac) voltage at a frequency of 50 hertz (Hz) and a voltage of 230 volts (V).

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
I have read that although the EU harmonised voltage to 230v across Europe, that outlets in the UK can output anything up to 250v. However, even at 230v, would this be too high or would it not cause any damage to the deck?
Thank you again 🙂
