    LG 50PK990

Hi Howie, I've been dealing with LG support for this issue for weeks - they are completely useless. Each different support person I deal with contradicts the previous one! The issue appears to be updating from V3 firmware to V5 in one go. There's a forum on another site which addresses this...

    LG 50PK990

I reduced the contrast to 60 during the run in period. I prefer the Sharpness at around 60 instead of 50 but left it at 50 during run in. I still have Orbitor turned on. Haven't noticed any IR in recent weeks. I have had the tv since 25 June and i guess i use it for 3-4hrs a day average.

I don't think you are allowed to link to other websites if they feature reviews of A/V equipment? I may be wrong. Anyway just to be safe these are the settings i use; Profile: Expert 1 Contrast 80 Brightness 50 Sharpness 50 Colour: 50 Tint: 0 Dynamic contrast: Off Noise Reduction Off...

    LG 50PK990

Hi Hemmy, To be honest despite it supposedly being the industry standard for movie watching, i really wasn't overly taken with the THX modes (Cinema/Bright Room) on the PK990. I decided to try the settings listed on another website, the settings were based on their calibration results. They...

    Help needed !!!!

G10 is last years model & maybe not a good idea given the number of people reporting changing black levels, the G20 might be the better option out of the available Panasonic models. Personally i think it's more sensible to give Panny's another year or two to see what they do about the black...

    LG 50PK990

Hi Hemmy, after months of researching several different tv's i decided to go for the 50PK990 - all the reviews had been positive to varying degrees, but had not been able to catch the set in the flesh. I was able to see the PK350 & 590 models in Currys/Comet so i had to base my decision on...

So, how many 3D TVs have been sold so far?

rocky66: I went to see Shrek IV in 3D very disapointed again with 3D. Alice in Wonderland was rubbish. The only good(ish) film in 3D was Avatar. Alice In Wonderland to be fair wasn't filmed in 3D - it went thru a post production conversion process. Same applies to Clash of the Titans. Not...

panasonic 50vt20 .. will it be crowned king ?

All this 4 star/5 star 'controversy' is all rather silly, all reviews and opinions are subjective - the most important thing is how YOU view the set based on your eyes and your experience using the tv. Besides even if the latest Panasonic plasma's were getting 5 stars, they would likely become...

TVs and what are they going to be like in 3 years time?

OLED are meant to be the next big thing. And 3D will no doubt be improved. Smaller & thinner? I remember when mobiles got smaller and smaller every year. Now they are going the other way lol.
