I've just recently bought a new base unit. It is a Sandy Bridge 2500K, unlocked with 8GB ram and a GeForce GTX570 card. Works for me!

What about anyone else?

I did briefly have a very nice overclocked 'Sandy Bridge' based setup but it's had to go back due to problems so I'm back to using my trusty 2 year old gaming rig. It's nothing very special but it's still capable of running Crysis smoothly on max settings at 1280x1080.

Intel Core i5 750 processor @ 3.8GHz
ATI 5850 graphics card
Asus P7P55D LE motherboard
4GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHz RAM
1TB Samsung F3 hard drive
550w Corsair VX series PSU
Coolermaster Elite 335 case

Beautiful monitor you got there. I used to have one, but couldn't cope with the wide gamut. Do the games you play have colour management?

Using my laptop for now. Don't see the need for an uber system, they cost an uber amount and my laptop runs everything smothly for the moment.

It's a 6GB ASUS G73 i7 Q720 1.60 mobility radeon HD5870. WIn 7 HP 64bit.

To be honest I'm not a mad gamer. Playing Portal 2 just now though.

cheers, I bought it mainly for Photoshop use to be honest. I'm not an all out gamer...but I love Fifa on the PS3 and play the odd FPS on the laptop. I gave up mad gaming with Quake 2., which for me is still the best ever online free-for-all deathmatch experience :)

Nice one Dave. Steam is very good. You'll have to try Crysis 2, Counter-Strike et al.

Your Windows score will be the HDD lowering your score, I'll wager. A nice SSD would be a boost, although bang for buck they're expensive.

read this about the windows index scoring...

Note
  • If your computer has a 64-bit central processing unit (CPU) and 4 gigabytes (GB) or less random access memory (RAM), then the Memory (RAM) subscore for your computer will have a maximum of 5.9.

I tried fallout and it just seemed like endless wandering around!

I've not seen Starcraft 2 mind...or heard of Mass Effect....

Isn't Dead Space the horror shocker one?
smiley-undecided.gif
Scary?

I think people are holding out for the new Deus Ex and BF3.

I know, fallout can be a bit boring when you begin, but its a nice game once you understand the whole story.

Dead space: i know, some people are too scared to play it

Mass effect: it was recommended to me recently, and i have been watching trailers..it looks awesome specially the last one.
