Yamaha RX V779 or Yamaha RX V679

Just a quick one....

...I'm new to AV equipment and am setting up my first system, which will also double as my primary set up for music. I'm looking for a big exciting sound with plenty of detail.

I will be upgrading speakers also in a 7.1 set up, most likely working around set of tannoy dc6t se at the front.

What, realistically, will I be getting for my money with the 779 over the 679? There's currently about £200 difference.

What HiFi went mental over the 677 but a bit cold with the 679. No info on the 779.

I'm guessing the sound will be as good as 677 with extra features and more power?

I'm also looking at the Onkyo TX-NR646.

I would recommend the Yamaha RX-A750 which belongs to the superior Aventage line, and not that much more expensive than the 779.
