Just wired up the amp up and went on to do an Auto Setup. Now, everything is OK until it get's to the Rear Speakers then the amp just turns itself off. I then performed a manual set up but during Films the amp kept cutting off again. I've made sure everything is 100% right, wires, setup etc. Anyone know what I could possibly be doing wrong?

Suggests either a fault in one of the speakers or an impedance-matching problem. But haven't been able to find a spec for the MV4 to check what the impedance is.

Ah right - they're 8ohms nominal. And you have them connected to the surround terminals, not the surround back? No stray wires sticking out of the springclips to create shorts?

In which case I suspect a speaker fault.

Yes, I've made sure everything is connected correctly. Getting the cable in was a bit fiddly because of the them Spring loaded speaker clips. Bits of cable are creeping out a little though, I'll try and push them all the way in.

Andrew Everard:Yes, sorry - found them at about the same time. Hence my reply above.

Just noticed this and edited my post.

They'd be my prime suspects...

Indeed, they we're guilty. When up and running the Yamaha presented more problems. When I switched source through the amp to Sky+ HD, it just displayed a green picture, if I changed the source to PS3 the screen was white with a tint of purple. I could hear the sound but not see the source picture. I was baffled. So out of curiosity I removed the the HDMI lead from Input 1 on my LG and placed it in input 3 and the problem was solved, could this be some form of handshake problem. Also Digi Opt lead for Sky Dolby Digital is set to AV1, there is no possible way I can assign it to the HDMI input for Sky+ HD. Before buying the amp I asked Peter Tyson if this amp had the latest firmware update and I got a firm reply of and I will quote "Yes, it certainly does have the firmware upgrade, so you will not have any difficulty assigning an Digi Opt to HDMI"
