I’ve never knowingly heard them, but most Yamaha products are good in their price range. Were they with a music centre or hifi system originally?

No, separate from a chaps studio.
I didn't buy them in the end.

I will be trying an old set of old Ditton 15's with. NAD C320 and a Marantz Cd56.

Any feedback on the Dittons would be good.
