It's all about balance really - I think your phono stage in your amp is of good enough quality to match your turntable - what cartridge do you have ?

If you had a £1000 turntable then maybe a seperate phono stage would be better especially if you £300 cartridge on the turntable.

maybe improve your cartridge first ????

The inbuilt phono stage will be more than adequate for most commonly pre-fitted cartridges. I'd only worry about external one if you significantly improve your cartidge and / or move to moving coil designs.

Cartridge is ortofon red. TBH it sounds pretty good but sometimes notice a lack of detail in the top end. If it really grates will look at swapping out the cartridge.
