Yamaha 763 or Pioneer 1018 Receivers

Hi, I have narrowed down my choice of Receivers to the Yamaha 763 or Pioneer 1018. Can anyone offer their opinions on which one produces the better sound experience forgetting the price difference etc. I mainly use for Blu Ray and Sky HD sports events. Speakers wil be KEF 2005.3. Thanks.

Hi euphoricmatrix, we'd suggest you go for the Yamaha - it's a fantastic receiver for the money and a step above the Pioneer in terms of performance...

I have the 763 with the KEF 2005.3 speakers. They sound awesome together - very well matched and great value.

Yep, Thanks for that..Yamaha is the one for me then, however I might just hang on a while and wait for the NEW 2009 model..it has 4 HDMI and upscalling..
