wow - just got some new speaker stands.

i just got some atacama hms2's to replace my mission stance speaker stands and i'm very surprised at the improvement. they are about the same height as my stances, with 3 tubs of atabites between them. the bass has really tightened up and seems to go deeper, the rest of the sound is better as well, clearer and crisper, seeming more real. in real terms, it is about half the difference between my speakers and the contour 1.4s i demoed on the stance stands. i.m well chuffed as i only really got them to match my rack and because i thought my new speakers (atc scm19 arriving monday) would be too top heavy on the stances. the tighter bass has also enabled me to open the toe-in out a bit, which has really helped imaging.

It really is surprising the difference good speaker stands can make. I was very pleased the difference I heard when I upgraded the stands.
