Hi

I'm looking at wireless speaker systems for my ipad 4 and have thought bout the Cambridge minx 200

I don't want a portable unit so am happy with the size etc of this speaker, but just wondered how it would compare to a micro system like a marantz melody 610 or Denon dm39 sound wise.

price wise they are similar, just wondered what you guys think..

No idea re the CA system, never heard f it but the Marantz is a belter

The Denin, AFAIK, doesn't offer Airplay so no good for wireless streamin from your ipad

What about the likes of the B&W Zeppelin Air or A5 systems?!

It seems to me that the simplest cost effective system is to use an Apple Atv, or Airport Express, connected to whatever active speakers you prefer.

Either device costs less than £100. In my case, I use an Airport Express connected to AVI speakers, which affords full and simple remote control, without any other equipment.

Hope this helps.

Apple TV3 gives you Airplay, additional functionality and is dirt cheap. Works a treat in my setup below and services like Netflix and i-tunes movies are excellent.

Hi

thanks for the replies guys...

I will starting from scratch as I do not have any HiFi kit anymore. (Sold my Arcam and monitor audio bi amped system a while ago..boohoo)

Also my TV is very old and needs a free view box to watch telly. (Dark ages I know)

So this will be my only method of listening to my tunes, just want something that will fill my

lounge with sound.

The micro system would give me cd playability too and it's similar price against the CA minx or a sonos setup.
