Will HDMI cable improve DVD built-in Freeview picture?

Hiya,

Currently have Panasonic Viera TV with built-in freeview. Picture quality of this is excellent. Replaced my Panansonic DVD recorder with Freeview (pic quality was very good) with LG DRT389H DVD recorder and the picture quality with this built in Freeview is not great. Currently using SCART and I'm wondering if HDMI cable would improve this, otherwise I think it'll be going back to Comet.

In itself the HDMI cable probably won't help much, but it will enable you to set the LG to upscale to 1080i, which may well give a better picture.
