Will blue ray discs always have DD5.1 and DTS?

I'm new to the home cinema scene and I have been very impressed with my Yamaha Soundbar YSP-600 which does a great job of filling my living room with surround sound as I had no room for a full setup. The problem is it doesn't support HD audio so I'm wondering if DD and DTS will always be an option on blueray for many years to come? Is there really a big difference?

Thanks

Yup, all Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD soundtracks have what is called a 'core mix' embedded into them. This means if an amp is unable to decode the full signal, it will always be able to decode the Dolby Digital / DTS core mix and give you surround sound from this.

In my opinion, yes. But then, in my opinion, I'd think you'd get more of a striking difference from going from a soundbar to 5.1 individual speakers. I know you may well not want this though and obviously that's more than fair enough

Thanks for the response. Thats good to hear. I was going to go down the line of the new Sony receiver and some satellites but there would have been cables everywhere and due to my furniture someone would have a front speaker in their face etc! The ysp seemed the only option ! It actually has a good shot at music as well.
