i have an old ps3 and my mate has bought a new slim and says he is happy with gig harddrive but i have 160gb one you can put any hard drive up to 2 tb in a ps3 so why dont they tell you. Its simple once i use that up i will copy and upgrade my harddrive. They also dont say that they are the ones apart from a high spec pc/mac to store and play avch video files which is what hd camcorders use,yet they brag about the online gaming which is the so bad its unreal. ps3 great media centre, ok blu ray player rubbish games console.

smuggs:you can put any hard drive up to 2 tb in a ps3 so why dont they tell you.

It's fully detailed in the Safety and Support manual which comes with the console...

i ment tell you by a advert on tv ect is it because they can release the 250gb slim and hope some people upgrade the whole unit

Why will they tell you? That'll only reduce their sales of future PS3 with a larger hard drive. Why will they spend money on an advert which will only result in lesser profits?

Even laptop & PC adverts don't tell this, although it's a known fact.

Because an advert isn't designed to teach you everything about a product, simply to capture your interest. You can then do the research yourself.
