The top left of the picture from my projector (ceiling mounted so inverted image) has intermittent bursts of thin horizontal white lines flickering on and off. This does not occur on Blu Ray, live Sky programmes or 1:2.35 content, but shows up with any 16:9 recorded content or DVD. So for example, a live footy match on Sky HD will be fine until a replay is shown or during half time analysis. I have played the image upside down and the flickering follows the same part of the image around.
I had assumed it was interference from somewhere, so have tried hooking the Sky box up to the PJ directly and also since upgraded HDMI lead, Mains lead and conditioner . I have also seen the same occurring with a friend’s PTAE3000.
Is it something to do with upscaled content and the PJ? But then can’t figure out why it only occurs with recorded stuff. Or is something that is always there but only noticeable because of the size of the image (106’’) ? I have read that it could be 'wide screen signalling (WSS) waveform in the 1st half of line 23 (1st active picture line)' and is more apparent nowadays as screens show the whole of the active picture.
Most visitors don’t really notice it but it I increasingly find myself looking out for it, as you do with these things.
Grateful for any thoughts or ideas on this.
