Which Subwoofer?

Hi all!

I'm trying to decide which new subwoofer to buy and I am down to 3, but making the final decision isn't easy as I’m not able to test them before I buy. The subwoofer will be used 90% for films and TV and 10% for music.

My 3 choices are:
BK XLS200 - 275w 10" driver
BK XLS400 - 400w 12" driver
Acoustic Energy 308 - 500w 12" driver (but I believe this model is over 10 years old)

My AV Receiver and other speakers are:
Onkyo 636 AV Receiver
Q Acoustics 3050 floorstanding fronts
Q Acoustics 3090 centre
Q Acoustics 2010i surrounds

Which of the 3 would sound the best? My living room is approx. 26' x 20' and has an open staircase to the upstairs of the house. I forgot to say that the subwoofer will need to be gloss white to match my Q Acoustics speakers.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

if you can afford the bk 400 then get it,if you buy the 200 you will end up wanting to upgrade to the 400,we have all been there,this will save you money and its a great sub.

the 308 seems to be a good sub and is really from a higher price range,while the bk 400 punches above its price,i doubt the 308 will better the bk, imo,

You could also consider the SVS SB12NSD which uses a long throw 12" bass driver and a 400w amplifier down to £399 at the moment (from £600).
