To go in a cabinate and partner a set of Focal Dome satellites.

Well the title says it all.

Room is 20ft square. There'll be a set of 5 Focal JMLabs Dome satellite speakers and I need a sub to go with them. Onkyo's 905 will be in charge, but the sub needs to go inside a cabinate and fire through an acoustic cloth door. So which sub would you recommend?

Does a Monolith sound better than a Dali S1.5?

Wish there was an official What Hi-Fi review. These get talked about alot on other forums but I don't have any idea how they stack up.

Has What Hi-Fi ever tested anything from BK? Apparently they made subs for Rel and others. Is their top spec monster likely to be able to boom sweetly?

I'm thinking of using a BK in place of the Dali S1.5 that was going to go in the cinema room on the basis that it may be a better and more cinematic sub. (The thread was originally about the Focal Domes but I think I'll partner them with my Dali Ikon Sub and take either the Monolith or Dali S1.5 for my system.) So the question is, how good is the BK Monolith?

Any views from the Andrew and Clare side?

Have just discovered the BK Monolith (British made) and SVS PB13-Ultra (US made).

These seem to be a truly phenomonal pair of subs. (£450 and £1300 respectively) What's the What Hi-Fi scoop? Am I asking the wrong questions as there don't appear to be any replies coming this way?

Ciao all :)

Nah I think the Dali S1.5 will go in the cabinate as planned. The Dali Ikon sub I have will go with the kitchen setup and that just leaves me with an empty space for my own system. I do like the look of the SVS I must say. It's a big beast and should last a lifetime from the look of it. Now that's what I'm after. But can I afford it? The price comes down a bit thanks to membership of a different forum. I can live with £1150 maybe. Oh boy. (I have no money for this really). Yikes!
