Which Soundbar??????

Hi All

I am upgrading my TV to a 40/42" unit (as yet make is undecided). I want to get some good sound but have gone off the idea of a 5.1 system and have decided that a soundbar will suit my requirements ideally.

The problem is to determine which one to go for.

So, any thoughts and comments will really be much appreciated. I have toyed with the Yamaha, Marantz, Samsung and Q Acoustics units.

Please help.

i need a soundbar for my bedroom. yamaha are launching a new range so i suggest you hang back for the reviews on them. thts what i'm going to do. i would think that even today, the existing yamaha models are your best option.

B&w do a sound bar now but i havn't seen one let alone heard one.

Look out for the Pioneer HTP SB300 due December time. It's a 3.1 soundbar , Dolby true HD + wireless subwoofer. Expected price £450. Should be interesting as it was Pioneer who developed the original technology but are arriving late to their own party so to speak.

I agree with brettweir. Yamaha makes some of the best soundbars in the market currently, which is sensibly priced.
