Hi all

looking for a new reciever to replace my Yamaha RXA 810 which has the new sound, I have a 7.1 q7000 set up wanted to add 2 front height channels for atmos ( as the q7000 speakers tilt forwards when on a wall could be perfect for the job but most amps are 7.1 and then have 2 other channels for height speakers ( like the pioneer VSX 930 ) but will it produce sounds from all those speakers or will I need a 9.1 amp and if so as movies are mostly 5.1 or 7.1 will the sound be just a sumulated upgrade like Dolby pro logic etc.

any info would be great

thanks all

It depends on how much money you want to spend but i would look at denon or marantz, Denon AVR-X2200W, AVR-X3200W, AVR-X4200W or marantz SR5010, SR6010, SR7010.

I think we are getting off topic, the question is more towards can a 7.2 channel amp run all the speakers in my setup or do I need to go to 9.2 or is there a way around it.
