That's like comparing Hilti with a Ryobi or a Black and Decker. They all do the same job but some will obviously do a better job than others.

If you have a good quality, calibrated screen and want the best audio, then you're looking at the best disc spinner you can afford. If you just have a run-of-the-mill TV and don't plan on using the player for music, then a budget machine will probably do. Ultimately it's going to come down to how much you want to spend and the quality of the rest of the components in your system. The Oppos are meant to be superb machines but obviously cost a lot more.

You get what you pay for in the end but with AV sometimes the law of diminishing returns comes into it. Therefore a demo is important so that you can see and hear what you're paying for.
