WHICH BLU RAY PLAYER TO BUY

HI THERE
IM NEW TO POSTING ON THIS FORUM BUT I BROWSE FOR INFO THAT MAY HELP WITH DECISION MAKING.
THIS MAY OR MAYNOT HAVE BEEN A TOPIC BEFORE BUT I HAVE A PS3 THAT IM USING FOR BLURAY MOVIES, I WOULD JUST LIKE TO ASK WHAT YOU THINK WOULD BE THE BEST STAND ALONE PLAYER TO REPLACE IT . IHAVE 300 POUND BUDGET AND IVE READ THROUGH THE REVIEWS OF THE SONY S350 AND THE PANA BD30 .I HAVE 7.1 SURROUND KEF SETUP .
CAN ANYONE ADVISE THE BEST FOR THE MONEY.

Please turn caps lock off, it's really hard to read!!
I don't think it's worth updating if your bedget is only £300, you wont see much if any difference. Maybe if your budget was £500+

I agree with Hi-fi Nut - both the Sony and Panasonic players you mention are better than the PS3 for both Blu-ray and DVD playback, but not massively so: you'd need to step up to the likes of Panasonic's DMP-BD50 for that.

Personally i'd stick with your PS3 (it's precisely what i'm doing) - there's a lot of new players from many brands due in the next few months, and if the £230 Sony is anything to go by there could be some corking Blu-ray options on the way.

I'd hold on until we get round to the budget player test Clare promised for the next available issue, where we'll be comparing the Sony with its competitors.

And to second hifi_nut, please dump the caps lock

EDIT - Eeek, she beat me to it!

I suspect that the Sony will be the first of a whole bunch of autumn release Blu Bargains in time for the Christmas buying binge.... if it comes this year....
