which av amp and speakers

hi there....i got a sony bdp-350 blu ray player .......42 inch panasonic viera plasma...sky hd........xbox am looking afor a budget ish av amp and speakers just to give it a bit of a whoosh...preferably just 2 speakers...room is bout 12 foot by 12 foot and ive got 300 uk to spend ..if comes with sub then thats fine.......any ideas plz

what sort of budget? what type of speakers? how bigs the room? will you want a subwoofer too?

sorry bit new to this room is small say 12 feet by 12 feet got bout 300 to spend

If you're only after 2 speakers and are sure you won't want to upgrade this to a surround system in the future, I'd recommend getting a stereo amp rather than an AV amp - you'll get a lot more for your money since you won't be buying a load of features you're not going to need.
