It's a tad difficult to clear.....So much spam trash in most sections
Thanks for the 'head's up'So much spam trash in most sections
I have no idea why your post was deleted, where was it?Why has my legitimate post about hifi been deleted????
I have many many years and a vast amount of experience of low to very high value kit.
Am I not allowed to mention valves? Ey?
I found your post in the approval queue but strangely, it didn't filter through to the mods directly for approval. It was never deleted. Some posts are filtered for approval automatically if the algorithm deems there may be spam. Maybe the title of the thread triggered it?Why has my legitimate post about hifi been deleted????

Am I not allowed to mention valves? Ey? Wtf?
It's been flagged for their attention recently, and again today.Shouldn't be beyond the wit of a site computer geek to arrange some filter to stop them reaching the forum.
(All those ones that look identical at least)
.....only really need to target first time posters.
Re the title - nice to know the work that goes on behind the scenes is appreciated!
I think the mods like you are amazing on here.Forgive me, I was actually being a little sarcastic - not noble, I know! The glut of spam occurred from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 a.m. this morning - not time when I think you'd reasonably expect the mods to be on active duty.
As I say, I've flagged up that filtering a few key words would send a lot of this stuff into the approval queue, so members wouldn't be bothered by it. It's up to admin now.
Sounds like you need to start doing shifts!Forgive me, I was actually being a little sarcastic - not noble, I know! The glut of spam occurred from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 a.m. this morning - not time when I think you'd reasonably expect the mods to be on active duty.
I was on it as I am currently working nights and it was a quiet one on the work front..... Not something I want to encounter every night though.Forgive me, I was actually being a little sarcastic - not noble, I know! The glut of spam occurred from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 a.m. this morning - not time when I think you'd reasonably expect the mods to be on active duty.

Cheers Freddy, hope you and yours are wellI think the mods like you are amazing on here. You get nothing but grief and all you are doing is trying to do the right thing. It did my head in when I was one.
Steps have been taken around key words and registration criteria, so hopefully there will be less to see. Big thanks to site admin. It's been flagged for their attention recently, and again today.
I understood that all first posts were queued for approval before listing. Perhaps this was not the case otherwise spam like we have been seeing would not happen.Changes also seem to be stopping dubious new members before posting is even attempted.
I think it takes reason for them to be pushed into the approval queue. What's been done expands the range of reasons for so doing. At least, that's what I think is happening...I understood that all first posts were queued for approval before listing. Perhaps this was not the case otherwise spam like we have been seeing would not happen.
